Professional experience

Ana Luiza specializes in arbitration and dispute resolution, focusing on representing clients in both national and international disputes. Her legal practice encompasses handling complex cases in corporate and construction litigation, particularly those involving mergers and acquisitions, shareholder disputes, infrastructure projects, and disputes in the energy sector. Ana Luiza also has experience in risk assessment and litigation prevention. 

Education: 

  • Bachelor of Laws from the Federal University of Bahia (2022) 
  • Postgraduate degree in Contracts from the Getulio Vargas Foundation – FGV (in progress) 
  • Summer Course in Private International Law – The Hague Academy of International Law (2022) 

Publications: Co-author of the article “State responsibility for private actors: critical analysis of current attribution standards in the international court of justice,” presented at the 17th Brazilian Congress of International Law and published in the book “Expanding International Law,” Volume XVII, by Arraes Editores (2019). 

Additional Activities: 

  • Oralist for the team that represented the Federal University of Bahia at the XXVIII Willem C. Vis International Arbitration Moot. Honorable mention in the Eric E. Bergsten Award for Best Team Orals in 2021. 
  • Oralist for the team that represented the Federal University of Bahia at the LIX and LX editions of the Philip C. Jessup International Law Moot Court Competition. Winning team of the 2019 Brazilian National Rounds. Runner-up team of the 2018 Brazilian National Rounds. 
  • Coach for the team that represented Souto, Correa, Cesa, Lummertz & Amaral in the Brazilian Arbitration and Business Mediation Competition (CAMARB), in the 2022 edition.
